Steel Cone
  • Steel cones are cone-shaped formwork accessories made of cast iron, used in concrete formwork. They are cone-shaped, with one end featuring a small top diameter and the other end a large bottom diameter, and have internal threads. The steel cones engage with concrete tie rods during the assembly of the concrete tie system.

  • Material:Ductile cast iron
  • Match tie rod:12/15/20mm
  • Height:75/100mm
  • Surface treatment:black,hot-dip galvanized

Tie rods are assembled with formwork steel cones to secure formwork panels and ensure access to the concrete placement area during pouring and shuttering. After the concrete sets, the steel cones are easy to remove. However, you will need to repair the holes left at the positions of the steel cones in the concrete to ensure the structural integrity of the component remains intact.

Steel cones are used in watertight concrete wall applications. The cones are supported on the inner side of the formwork and fastened from the outside with a tie rod, waler plate, wing nut, or equivalent accessories. Size accuracy of the formwork spacing is achieved by using a lost tie rod (which can be configured with a water stop).

The steel cones are loosened via an easily accessible hexagonal head located in the cone cover, and the matching PE sleeve further facilitates this process.

The slim-edge cover forms a distinct opening that can be easily filled with mortar. However, if the outer tie rod is over-tightened, it will leave a clearly visible indentation on the formwork skin; by contrast, the wide-edge cover prevents damage to the formwork skin.

The hole that remains after unscrewing must be closed elaborately.
